What is the normal turnaround time for completing service?
As soon as possible! The only delay will be the availability of the defendant. All domestic services are attempted in no more than 48 hours from date of receipt. There is no way to predict the exact time a defendant will be served but we make every effort to complete it as soon as possible. The process server has an incentive since they do not get paid until the documents are served!
Why doesn't my local Process Server have connections in your area?
Most Process Servers are busy handling the work in their own area. We have made it easy to get papers served ANYWHERE by developing a network of Process Servers throughout the Country. All you do is send your documents to us and we'll take care of everything! You can call us toll-free at (800) 262-8310.
Even if a process server does not need to be licensed in the state where you need service, you should keep in mind that a process server is someone who is experienced in serving legal documents efficiently. More importantly, professional process servers are knowledgeable of the legislation surrounding service of process in their state or county. There are several requirements and constraints associated with serving legal documents that vary from state to state, or county to county. If the service is not performed in accordance with the law, this can hinder your case from going forward, or result in the dismissal of your case. Improper service also delays obtainment of evidence, which can cause injunctions, an increase in court fees and additional attorney fees. |
